What do you need?
Proofreading and copy editing are surprisingly separate processes. They involve different kinds of scrutiny, meaning that the copy is looked at from different perspectives in each process. Find out more below on my approach and the services I offer, to see which one best fits your needs.

Proofreading
Checking for errors and inconsistencies
Proofreading involves reading the copy, checking for errors and inconsistencies and correcting them accordingly. This is usually completed against an agreed style sheet.

Copy editing: light
Editing for understanding and logic
Alongside proofreading the copy, light edits are made to ensure the copy is ready for publishing, paying particular attention to structure (headings, fonts, styles and captions) and logic.

Copy editing: medium
Editing for tone, purpose and accuracy
Alongside proofreading and light editing, a more detailed review ensures the copy is consistent in voice, tone and purpose. The information is also checked for clarity and accuracy.
